Amazing Grace – Does Love Forgive?

Cura did appear on AEW Dark in a mask so it wasn’t until a couple of weeks later that I realized that she had gone to see the healer.  Addie was showing me a picture on Instagram.  The cover story she was peddling was that she had found a “miracle” skin and scar fading balm and then fixed the rest up with make-up but I knew that was bullshit.

I don’t know if she was avoiding me or if it was legit but we could never find a time to meet.  I showed up uninvited at her place.  I could tell something was wrong with her.  Her skin was glistening like she was covered in grease and she was moving in an awkward deliberate way.  Like she was walking on ice and was afraid of falling.

She gushed about how great it was.  She talked and talked about how she had been saved.  She said that the healer could do the same for me.  I said “Great, let’s go right now” repeatedly but she acted like she didn’t hear me and continued praising the miracle that saved her.

I was able to get her to focus better by asking her what the healer had done.  Cura started talking about the healing powers of snakes and how the snake was the symbol of medicine and all this stuff about snakes.  For a long time she talked about how the First Nations knew it, they worshipped snakes, which I don’t think is true.

I kept saying “okay but what did she do exactly?” over and over.

Cura eventually pulled up her shirt and showed me her chest where the worst of her scars used to be.  “She put it here” she said.

“Her hands?”

“The snake.”

“She put a snake on you?”

She shook her head, her curls bouncing “She put a snake inside me.”  She made a weird move like she was dancing “I can feel it inside me.  It feels like sweet syrup.”

I tried to get her to tell me exactly what had happened, what was done to her, but she didn’t seem to be able to focus on what I was saying.  Or maybe it was more that she couldn’t find the motivation to care.

I was stymied until she suddenly burst up and said that we should go see her so she could help me too.  She got on her phone and called.  I told her to put it on speaker but she didn’t listen.  She blurted out a few excited sentences and then almost immediately stated crying.  “I don’t understand why you’re being so mean to me!” she shouted like a little kid.

I told her to give me the phone and then took it from her when she ignored me but the other person had hung up.  She collapsed on the couch screaming and kicking like a kid having a tantrum.  Before I could decide what I wanted to do about that there was a pounding on the door and a voice yelling that it was the police and they had a warrant for Cura’s arrest.

Before I could decide what to do about that, the door opened and in came Henry Fong.
